Eco-Friendly SUVs
Over the years, a continually strong demand has catapulted Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to the upper echelon of the automobile industry.
Let's face it. These cars project a hip and/or macho image to anyone that sees them, which is why most consumers couldn't help but give in to the "In Demand" mentality and say, "I have to buy that car!" Ok! Ok! That statement could have come with just a tad of exaggeration.
But in all fairness, it is the physical appearance of these SUVs that is catchy to the common eye. Couple that with their multi-purpose functionality, these SUVs are definitely must-haves. Since an average SUV already combines the load-hauling strength of a truck with the passenger-carrying capacity of a wagon (not to mention its off-road driving features) in a more compact and convenient frame, more and more people opt to buy these pricey automobiles.
Most car manufacturing companies can attest to that. Since the introduction of SUVs to the general public years ago, car-makers have enjoyed the wide profit margins that they have been receiving from manufacturing SUVs. At an average, the profit from a single SUV unit could easily reach five digits (in US Dollars). This is why big chunks of most car manufacturers' profits in the past years have come from the sales of these light trucks.
Because of this outrageously high demand, car manufacturing companies are so affixed with the income that they are generating, turning a deaf ear on the drawbacks that these vehicles have not only for drivers and passengers, but for the environment as well.
